Legacies of Liberation
a curatorial video series exploring works by Black artists at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco
As a Curatorial Cataloguing Fellow at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, I wrote and hosted a series of four videos centering Black experiences, artworks, and histories.
The series is geared towards middle and highschool students, and is meant to serve as both an educational resource as well as an entry point into the work of Black artists in the Fine Arts Museums’ collections for any interested viewer.
Here, I have combined storytelling and the care and curation of Black art to highlight the stories the selected works tell across themes such as : the many meanings of ‘home,’ societal impacts of Black artists and their work, and Black relationships to land.
Check out the full series, along with accompanying educational materials, here.
